Current Device Status
| Xbox device | Public PS5X Xbox package | Evidence on this site | What you can do now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series X | Targeted for Developer Mode | Early game boot reports and a separate controller demo | Use the Series X/S setup guide and check each game's evidence. |
| Xbox Series S | Targeted for Developer Mode | No game-specific Series S result established here | Use the Series X/S setup guide; do not assume Series X FPS or playability. |
| Xbox One family | Explicitly excluded by the public package | A separate developer-reported experiment, described below | Do not follow the Series X/S package installation steps for Xbox One. |
The Xbox One entry describes a reported experiment. It does not mean the public .msix can be installed on Xbox One.
What Was Shown on Xbox One?
Quake II
The report says the developer ran the PS5 build of Quake II on Xbox One. It does not establish the exact build, repeatable installation, sustained performance, saving or completion. This is distinct from the older Xbox Series X Quake II report in our game evidence list.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion
The reported Xbox One image reaches a title screen for the PS5 build of Marvel Cosmic Invasion. A title screen is an earlier stage than an extended gameplay test. Gameplay performance and long-term stability on Xbox One remain unknown.
Why the Public Download Is Different
The developer's October 21 Xbox release ↗ says the experimental package is for Xbox Series X|S in Developer Mode and explicitly adds “not the Xbox One.” The first public Xbox release ↗ also explains that its package requires AVX2 and cannot run on Xbox One.
The reported Xbox One experiment does not publish an Xbox One download or a reproducible setup path in those releases. Do not substitute the Series X/S .msix, its dependencies or an unofficial mirror for an Xbox One build.
Xbox One FAQ
Can I use the public PS5X download on Xbox One, Xbox One S or Xbox One X?
No Xbox One-family installation path is provided by the reviewed public Xbox release. It explicitly excludes Xbox One. The reported experiment is not the same as the package linked from our Download page.
Does Developer Mode make that public package compatible with Xbox One?
No. Developer Mode is the environment named in the release, but the same release still limits the package to Xbox Series X|S. Developer Mode alone does not change its device target.
Are Quake II and Marvel Cosmic Invasion fully playable on Xbox One?
That has not been established. Quake II was reported as running; the Marvel Cosmic Invasion image reaches a title screen. These reports do not prove a repeatable install, sustained FPS, saves or completion on Xbox One.
Where to Go Next
If you have Xbox Series X or Series S, find the developer's current Xbox package and follow the complete setup guide. If you want to judge a particular game claim, read the Xbox-specific evidence before calling it playable.
